Anyone in the community can help increase the value of cats, but veterinarians have a special role to play. There are many things that we can all do within our spheres of influence, to positively affect cats and their wellbeing. It is easy, take what you normally would do in a clinic, use the resources we provide and paint it with the Year of the Cat! With all the resources available, the plan is to get people working together to create responsible and compassionate communities where people care for cats.
To help you get started, follow these easy steps:
- Distribute YOC Key Messages document to staff.
- Use the Care for Cats and Year of the Cat logo in your clinic to increase awareness.
- Use the web banners on your site.
- Print and post YOC Vet poster.
- Print your iron-on t-shirt transfer for team members
- Train staff to talk to pet families about the importance of regular clinic visits for their cats. Book appointments using the YOC appointment cards.
- Participate or support the three events.
- Volunteer or collaborate with community stakeholders to help curb the over population crisis.
